Ben and Jess’ intimate wedding in Hamilton, Ontario felt like something from another time. Set inside a beautiful historic building, with pearls, candlelight, and a wedding dress handmade by the bride herself, there was an old-world romance to the day that was felt by everyone in attendance.
The ceremony took place in the building’s lobby, in front of a grand fireplace and piano, with just a dozen or so of their closest loved ones gathered to witness it. From the candles dripping with wax to the little white wedding cake topped with two bunnies (a sweet nod to their English Angora rabbit), everything had intention behind it.
We spent some time taking portraits inside the building, where the old-timey feel and soft light made Ben and Jess look as though they’d stepped straight out of the pages of an old novel. Afterward, we ventured into a nearby park for family photographs, undeterred by the rain that had settled in around us.
There was something so charming about the whole day. A little moody, wonderfully romantic, and full of the kind of details that tell you so much about the people who chose them.
